Soldering Sculpture

Task: Fabricate a small sculpture by soldering 12 pins and a bent brass rod on a protoboard.
Materials: protoboard, 12 pin header, brass rod, soldering iron

The sculpture I created by bending the brass rod with a tweezer is a tree-like shape. For every assignment and skill I learn in this course, I want to think of it as planting a tree and creating a forest of knowledege. I visited the lab during office hours to learn how to solder with the help of TAs. I became familiar with the tools and practiced soldering with the 10 pin heads and 3 points on the sculpture.

PCB Pendant

https://github.com/tramyd/ces-pcb_pendant
Task: Design a PCB layout and mill it onto a CNC. Then solder components onto the board.
Materials: copper board, 555 timer chip, CR2032 coin cell battery, LED, ceramic capacitors, resistors

Generative Art

https://github.com/tramyd/ces-generative_art
Task: Write a program that runs on a ESP32 that is generative and contains relevent text.
Materials: ESP32 TTGO T-Display, battery

Continuing with the themes of nature, from a tree to a flower in the previous modules, I wanted my generative peice to be reflective of this as well. On the ESP32, I uploaded a program that randomly displays a temperature in fahrenheits. And based on the value, a corresponding emoticon would appear as a reaction to the generated temperature.

Interactive Devices

https://github.com/tramyd/ces-interactive_devices
Task: Create an interactive device with the provided hardware. The devices will run off wired power and send data back to a laptop for visualization, sonfication, or any type of media generation process.
Materials: ESP32 TTGO T-display, copper tape, breadboard

etc
